Florida homeowners receive a TRIM (Truth in Millage) notice each August showing proposed assessed values and taxes. It starts the clock on the appeal window — generally about 25 days to file a petition with the Value Adjustment Board.
Reviewing the TRIM notice carefully each year is the easiest way to catch an over-assessment in Florida.
