How we research and update our content

Last reviewed: September 7, 2026.

Purpose

Our guides explain property-tax assessment and appeal processes in plain language. They are educational resources and product documentation, not legal, tax, appraisal, or government advice.

Sources and hierarchy

For deadlines, forms, filing bodies, and statutory terminology, we prefer the relevant county assessor or appraisal district, state tax agency, legislature, court, or other government source. Third-party market data is labelled as provider data, recorded sale data, comparable evidence, listing data, or an automated valuation model. We do not describe a model estimate as an official record.

Calculations and AI assistance

Application calculations are implemented in code and reviewed for consistent inputs and outputs. AI may help draft explanatory copy or a customer document, but it is constrained by the supplied figures and source data. Generated documents are drafts: the customer must verify names, parcel numbers, values, tax year, deadline, form, and filing instructions.

Local variation

Property-tax rules vary by state, county, taxing unit, valuation date, and notice. A state guide or typical deadline is never a substitute for the current notice and local authority instructions. We show the source link where one is available and ask customers to confirm before filing.

Updates and corrections

We review deadline and process content as part of scheduled maintenance and when a source changes. If you find an incorrect, outdated, or unclear statement, email support@taxappealagent.com with the page URL and the authoritative source. We assess the report, correct material errors, and update the review date.

Independence and conflicts

TaxAppealAgent publishes its own guides and product comparisons. We do not claim endorsement by an assessor, appraisal district, tax agency, competitor, data provider, or government body. Product links may lead to TaxAppealAgent services; that commercial relationship is disclosed plainly on the page.
