The periodic process where a county updates property values, often every 1–5 years.
Reassessment is when your county refreshes property values on a set cycle — annually in some states, every few years in others. A successful appeal usually holds until the next reassessment.
Reassessment years are when big swings (up or down) happen, making them the most important years to check whether you’re over-assessed.
