Notice of Assessment
The official document telling you your property’s assessed value for the coming tax year.
Your notice of assessment (or appraisal) is the county’s annual statement of your property’s value. It’s the trigger to act: the appeal deadline usually runs from the date this notice is mailed.
Check it every year against what your home would sell for — if the value looks high, that’s your cue to appeal before the deadline.
