Appeal Hearing
A short, informal meeting where you present evidence for a lower assessment.
If your appeal isn’t settled informally, it goes to a hearing before the review board. Despite the name, it’s not a courtroom — usually a 10–20 minute conference-room meeting where you present comps and the assessor responds.
The vast majority of appeals never reach this stage, and the ones that do rarely require a lawyer for a standard residential property.
