Appeal Deadline
The last date to file a property tax appeal; miss it and you usually wait a full year.
Every jurisdiction sets a strict deadline to appeal (or “protest”) your assessment. Miss it and in most states you must wait until the next tax year — there are rarely extensions.
Deadlines vary a lot: Texas is generally May 15, New York’s Grievance Day is the fourth Tuesday in May, Florida runs ~25 days after the TRIM notice. Many are tied to when your assessment notice is mailed, so the clock is different for everyone.
Our per-state guides list the deadline and filing window for all 50 states.
